Aims and Scope

The Journal of Smart Grids, Energy Analytics and Optimization is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal published by Institute of Smart Energy Systems Press (ISESP). The journal is dedicated to advancing research and innovation in smart energy systems, smart grids, energy analytics, optimization methods, and digital technologies that contribute to the development of efficient, reliable, resilient, and sustainable energy infrastructures.

The journal focuses on the role of energy digital transformation in developing advanced energy infrastructures through digital platforms, intelligent systems, analytics-based solutions, and emerging technologies. Research related to technology management and the adoption, implementation, and governance of innovative energy technologies is also encouraged, particularly when it contributes to improved efficiency, sustainability, and decision-making in energy systems.

The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, systematic review articles, and case studies that contribute to the understanding, development, and application of smart energy technologies. Relevant studies may address theoretical advances, computational frameworks, practical implementations, and interdisciplinary approaches connecting energy systems, data analytics, information technologies, optimization methods, and sustainability.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

  • Smart grids, intelligent energy networks, and next-generation power systems

  • Smart energy systems, digital energy infrastructures, and intelligent energy management

  • Energy analytics, big data applications, and data-driven decision-making in energy systems

  • Machine learning, deep learning, and intelligent algorithms for energy applications

  • Energy optimization, mathematical modeling, computational methods, and decision-support systems

  • Energy management systems, demand response, and energy efficiency improvement

  • Renewable energy integration, distributed energy resources, and hybrid energy systems

  • Microgrids, virtual power plants, and decentralized energy management

  • Energy storage technologies, battery management systems, and optimization of storage operations

  • Energy forecasting, load prediction, renewable generation forecasting, and uncertainty analysis

  • Digital transformation of energy systems, Internet of Things (IoT), and connected energy technologies

  • Digital twins, simulation platforms, and advanced computational tools for energy system analysis

  • Power system operation, control, stability, reliability, and resilience

  • Cybersecurity, data protection, and governance of digital energy infrastructures

  • Sustainable energy systems, carbon reduction strategies, and environmentally responsible energy management

  • Technology management and innovation strategies for emerging energy technologies

We particularly encourage interdisciplinary research that combines energy systems with analytics, optimization, and digital transformation to address current and future challenges in energy reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and intelligent decision-making.

Purely theoretical computer science or engineering studies without a clear contribution to smart energy systems, energy analytics, optimization, digital transformation, or energy-related decision-making are outside the scope of the journal.
